​After catching up after the Memorial Weekend, it feels like it is time to set goals for the summer, including spending time writing family history. It is so easy to continue researching but our work becomes the most useful when we share our information with others. Let’s look at ways to do this.

​There are so many resources available to help us figure out how and what to write. This week I thought I’d share links to inspire you.

Here is a recent book that was featured on this blog by Clare Wilson at Treehouse Genealogy: Review - Storytelling for Genealogists
It can be overwhelming to think of writing an entire family history for a branch of your family. I have done that and it is indeed a time and dedication commitment. I think that compiling several short stories or focusing on a family member might be a great way to make a start. Overtime, those efforts could be compiled into a larger history. It’s your family, your story. I hope these inspire you to spend some time enjoying the summer while writing at least a story or two to share with your family. Happy Writing!
