I’ve been searching to see what databases and sites that I haven’t utilized for my family history. Genes Reunited is one that I haven’t used before and noticed on a top ten site list. Let’s look. Discover your ancestors - Genes Reunited is focused on family history research in the United Kingdom. They have census data, birth, marriage and death records, photos, and military records. For example, they include information related to WWI and WWII.

I was surprised to find that their blogs hadn’t been updated for several years. Or perhaps there are more current blogs that are only visible to their members. There appear to be interesting articles, but you do need to sign up to read them. All data appears to be owned by FindMyPast Limited. We often assume that all data is online or found only on a few sites. It’s good to check out other options, they may have niche information or records. While I don’t have a strong ancestral presence in the UK, it might be worth your while to look at this site. Take some time to explore this site or others to see what you can find. Happy searching!
