This week we traveled down a gravel road to a well-maintained country cemetery to place flowers on the graves of family members who have passed. Despite the usual Dakota winds, it was a lovely spring day. We were able to spend time walking around the cemetery remembering neighbors, family and friends. Whether it is Memorial weekend or another time, it’s good to remember those who have passed
This past week a Korean veteran passed in the community and because of all the restrictions, the family couldn’t have the usual reception after the private funeral. Instead at the local park, they had his casket in front of the Veterans Memorial that he was instrumental in getting built. Family and friends drove by to honor him. What a great way to honor this respected veteran. As you celebrate this Memorial Day, I hope you’re able to spend time with your loved ones. Take the time to listen and create memories together. Happy Memorial Day.
