While I would have loved to travel to London for RootsTech in October, it wasn’t in my budget or time schedule. However, they have made some sessions available to us to watch after the fact. Let’s look. The sessions I watched with the RootsTech held in the United States this past year were very informative, providing information that was useful to those just starting out as well as tips for those who had been researching their family history for many years. They have a fine selection offered online for free viewing from the London event.
RootsTech 2019 Key notes and general sessions Feel like you were there by viewing the general sessions with Donny Osmond, Dan Snow (the history guy) and other key speakers. RootsTech Sessions There are six free videos to watch with topics ranging from DNA to Irish Research to Comparing the Genealogy Giants. It is worth noting that in addition to the videos available for 2019 RootsTech, you also can check out past RootsTech sessions available from previous years by checking out the video archives. There does appear to be an option to pay for a premium virtual classes pass which gives you access to a number of recorded sessions that are not available for free. I have not pursued the ordering process to see if you can sign up for this option post conference. You can view the list of those courses to see if they would be of interest to you. As you juggle all the activities surrounding the holidays, you might want to take an hour or so to learn something new in family history research. Learning new things may give you the extra incentive to do additional research or writing for your family history. Happy Learning! “Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.” --Chinese Proverbs
